Sound System

Sound System

This photo shows the old stereo removed and preparing to fit the new. The audio system that's going in is a Pioneer DVD touch screen, connected to an Audison DSP (Digital Sound Processor) with remote to also fit into the dash. The DSP is initially set up via a laptop computer to fine tune each speaker so that it gives it's ultimate sonic performance. It also harmonises all speakers, regardless of where they are placed, making the listener believe that they are in the middle of a concert. Many people believe the myth – the more speakers the merrier, Q: how many ears do you have? All I am fitting is one pair of hi end 6.5” drivers with crossovers and separate 1” titanium tweeters. For DVD movies I am putting in 2 x 7” touch screen monitors with PS3 controllers, plus two midrange speakers in the rear doors so that we will have the full surround sound. To cope with any Bass, there is just a single 12” enclosed, ported, subwoofer which will live in the boot as part of the false carpeted partition, so all you see when you open the boot is the front face of the subwoofer and a receded amplifier. The partition also conceals all wiring, yet can be quickly moved to allow access for maintenance. This system is designed to reproduce very high quality music that sounds full bodied and rich.
