Hey Guys,

Im after a FMIC kit to suit Gen 2. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Ive seen Billsy's Kit on RSLC and dont really want to risk it not fitting.

I really like the AM-Auto Piping, it looks neat and well thought out.

What else is there to look at?

I'm tempted to buy a TIG attachment for my welder and modify a GC8 just jap kit, but i would love a bolt on kit

Also, Rotated compressor housing looks like it makes it neater with the piping, easy to do? is it as simple as rotating the housing somehow.

And finally, Whats the point of twist mount?

Apparently the GC8 Kits will fit, but you have to cut a heap of the Reo to make it fit.. If your handy with welding & angle grinders go for it..

Twist mount, pretty sure it's so you can fit aftermarket turbo's Garret GT35R's etc =]!

I believe twist mounts have straighter entry pipe into the turbo so it spools up quicker. And it looks cool

So the gen1 and gen2 should be pretty much the same?

Just wondering as the kit I bought was for a gen 2

Alex, billsy was unsure about it fitting past certain areas like a/c piping and window washer bottle, also abs. Did you need to move abs in your setup?

My ABS remains in the same place.

But Legacy BG5B is different to Legacy BG5A, which is different again to AUDM Liberty.

I 'reckon' one will fit, do you want to keep a stock airbox? or run a pod? just go for 2" piping maybe

From what i can see if it fits in grants it should fit in yours.





Washer bottle looks the same as does AC lines, only place i see you having trouble is around your undermanifold intake, which isn't as much of a problem if you run a pod or twisted set-up. charcol canister needs to be relocated aswell.

Id like to keep the air box if I can. I think im going to have to "suck it and see" but im also going to try measuring clearances, by the looks of it the hot side is going to be the main issue.

i just gotta move the power steering reservoir and run the cai into the guard

i can test fit on my car if you want, but i have already made small changes to the abs location and bent the AC line out of the way (between the radiator and passengers headlight) where the pipe goes through.
mine is the same as alex's a BG5B GTB.

FYI, you have to cut the reo out of the bumper anyway with any inverted cooler setup on a gen2. the only way to avoid it would be the long route round.
also i took out my power steering cooler (which isnt required anyway) to sit the core against the radiator.

on a gen2 you do aswell, pretty much the same needs to be cut

Okay so, I've done some looking in my engine bay, and i bit of "measuring"

So what i have come up with is, if i want to keep my air box as it is, which i do because im not a fan of the looks of a CAI, and im paranoid it will suck up water. I will need to do something with the Power steering lines that follow the heads.

I used my sisters drink can to replicate a 2" pipe running through and there is no way it will fit through with things the way they are.

TBH, I dont think im going to get a kit that is a direct bolt on, so now i need to decide what kit is going to suit my needs for parts so i can cut it up.

Billsy, would you supply kit unwelded for less $$ ?

Anyway, i took some photos of loacations of things

Also, Rotated compressor housing, simple as unbolting and rotating compressor housing?

On a side note, is anyone having issues with Photobucket not wanting to load pics?

Relocate charcoal can.

not sure if VF35 is rotatable.

To go under the headlights you will also have to move the aircon receiver/dryer thing. Also Al most likely wont do a kit for you unless he has the car. I would be confident in saying you could mod one of Billsy's kits to fit, but your airbox isnt doing you any favours in regards to room. Just do a CAI as far against the wall you can in your engine bay and if your handy with some thin aluminium or tin sheeting you could easily fab up a cover/airbox.

I know its not a Gen2, but heres what i did with my Gen1, nearly the same anyway except different intake.
