Hi Guys...

i am about a week away from getting my exhaust done... and i still am heavily considering attempting the GEN 1 headers mod.

I assume that if i get the whole exhaust done and the headers done at the same time it should be a simple process... i know the headers will fit being dual port and all... but i am concerned about the O2 Sensor... and whether the one in the old headers ( gen1) is ok...

meow i want to know if the sensors are the same in the gen 1 and gen 3 headers... and if i can swap them over and use the one from the gen3...

i really want that boxer sound and however i wouldnt mind to be different and maybe have some performance gain as well... seeing as i believe the gen 1 headers seem as if they would be more efficient than a set of Borla replicas or something....

any help would be more than appreciated... cheers guys

old O2 sensor won't work, but your current o2 sensor will screw into the bung :)

as mark said, just use your current 02 sensor. it'll screw straight into the bung on the gen 1 headers you plan on using

i was hoping i could use the orginal one...
using the old one was never in the question... unless i was forced to... then i would have just bought a new one...

i have seen some vids on ebay of imprezas using gen 1 liberty headers... and i think it was your post Scuba-Roo that gave me the idea of doing it in the first place...

oh okay fair enough. Can you let me know if the gen1 NA headers are a direct bolt up? i doubt they will but if they do i guess that'd be good for some people. add a sound clip if you could to :)

no probs with the sound clip!! :)

i imagine that if the whole exhaust is done at the same time i.e bolt the headers on, change the o2 sensors and make the exhaust up from the cat back it should be fine...

well heres hoping anyways...

yeah that will bolt up fine, just won't answer the question if they are a direct bolt up to gen3's

so i took it in today... all excited and anxious...

but they didnt bloody fit!!! :(

the cat is not quite far enough over to the side. It would sit under the gear box... lol...

i just went cat back... and an XFORCE muffler... sounds pretty quiet.. almost non existent at idle... but has a nice note under load... and doesn't really drone at all..

i will put a sound clip up some time after the weekend... its gonna be a big one for me ( work not party)

I do have a question though...

How many people have done a cat delete or the old broomstick trick?? (punching out the guts)

i did my best Jedi mind trick on the exhaust guy... but he wouldn't have a bar of it... lol...

so anyways till i get the vid up here are some ordinary pics from my phone... lol
