Hey all,

For a few weeks now my interior light and keyhole light in my gen3 have been staying on, when the doors are open/closed, and also when its locked or unlocked (obviously I've since turned the interior light off so the battery doesnt drain) Has anyone else had this problem?

please tell me its something simple

hi mate,

Just check the bottom corner of each doors and that all the plugs etc are there.
I am not sure what type of car you have, but in my old car it was just a plug on the door that when pressed would keep the light off.

As far as i know, all show as closed on the dash

Just checked all plugs and door buttons, everything seems to be working fine...

What you've probably done is fried the control module (BCM). I did it in my Outback and never got around to fixing it. Just had to have the interior light permanently off.

Oh that sounds good.... :/ Costly to replace one would assume?

Hard to tell. A guy on Rexnet fixed it for $40. I got a quote for $300 from a wreckers for the same part.

It's not detrimental to the running of your car so I'd keep an eye out for a wreck of the same year and model car as yours and pick it out.

It's a little box (black IIRC) that sits behind the glove box in the passenger footwell...
