Hi guys,

I test fitted some fatter rubber on my car last week in preparation for ordering new tyres.

They fit....only just.

They drove fine (light scrubbing under load).

But when I deliberately tested them with the wheels articulated on my driveway, there was some serious scrubbing against the guard and even the rear side skirt. I know lots of you have lowered your cars, fitted bigger rims etc. I'd like to hear of your experiences of what was fixable, what was manageable, and what was just plain impossible.

If you've got any educated opinions based on the pictures I've provided, I'd love to hear them. I really want to know if I can pull off these size tyres on my car or is it a pipe dream. I've heard guard rolling can help but not sure if it'll be enough on mine.

Why the fatter rubber?

Spring lift, or a lift kit could solve your problems...

Sorry I neglected to mention the new tyres would be coupled with a 1" inch spring lift. But I'm still worried about that rear skirt there. Might need to trim some of that off.

The tyres I'm after are only available in that size. Or 215's which are too skinny for my liking.

Thats pretty close....

A 1" lift should fix any issues though.

1" inch spring lift.

Not. Big. Enough.
