Hey all,

I recieved my rear view camera in the mail today and I have pretty much ran all the wires and wired it up to my head unit etc but there is a problem. I want to mount it inbetween the 2 license plate lights and I don't want to have to drill a hole to get the wires back into the boot so I was wondering if I take the rear garnish off I might be able to squeeze them through somewhere there. Anyway here is a picture of where I want it and a picture of the unit.

pop the boot and there are a heap of i think 8mm nuts that you have to undo for the garnish to come off

Mite not even need to take off the garnish.

Just unscrew the licence plate lights (or just one) And let it hang down.. Thread the camera wire through the rubber plug there and it'll go into somewhere inbetween the two layers of metal.

But first, take off the carpet lining inside the boot lid to locate it and run it down the boot arm after u thread it through the plug. pretty simple really mate

u read my post?? ^^^^

After the screws there's just adhesive tape so give it a tug, after unplugging any wires for the lights, make sure they thread out without getting snagged

EDIT:

Oh shit, theres more screws than that lol!

Have u taken off the boot carpet trim!? They're under that!

Okay I got it through one of the grommets. Bitch of a job but it is pretty much done just need to aim, drill 2 holes into the garnish and mount properly. But here's a quick little video. It's not the best colour and stuff because it is an infrared camera. So shall be good at night too!!

have you measured your own?
what type of badge are we talking here? say a new one of the normal suby emblem or an L7 badge?

..I'd recommend getting a new grille that does not have a badge on it! looks much better

Yeh measured it up and found the right badge. I will end up getting a new grill but for now just want something different. Sprayed the grill black today.
