Cluster's for Gen3

17 May 2012 - 07:54 PM

Hey all.

Im sick of looking and my boring cluster every day espically at night cause of the green color. The jap spec gen3's clusters only went to 180kmh compared with our 220kmh and the ones that black out rev to 7000rpm compared with our 6000rpm. Like these two

What I want to know is would either of these clusters work in my gen3 outback. Would the second one only rev to 6000 etc. And would the first one if I ever got it to and over 180 would the stick just keep going. Hope people get my drift here. Or is there no point in worrying.

Cheers

150,000km Major Service

13 February 2012 - 08:06 PM

Hey all,
Not sure if anything like this has been posted but anyway ill ask. I own a 2000 gen3 outback limited. The car has done 144,000kms and is due for its major 150,000km service very soon. Subaru have told me that the service will be around $820 plus anything else they find on top of that. The car has always been serviced at Subaru and i want to keep that up but my only proplem is im 21 and money doesnt grow on trees. So what im asking is can i get the car serviced at my own mechanic for a cheaper price or should i keep getting it done at Subaru. For this major service and after. The only thing thats making me hesitant about going to my mechanic is he cant do the whole "upper cylinder clean" that subaru can do. And im not that good with with the whole mechanics part of the car so i certainly cant service it myself. Peoples thoughts, ideas and suggestion would be much appreciated.
Cheers
Chris
