I can see what they are getting at with this car costing as much to put on the road as gettting the old Subaru back on the road, but in all honesty with your money issues the Mazda would be far better economy wise. Even for maintenance costs lol. I'd take the Subaru to the scrapper and wait till you can afford to buy a nicer (working) one. And I can see where you are coming from with the rebuild cost, your location doesn't help.

I reckon they are going to drop the Toyota motor (1JZ?) from that halfcut they got in Japan into it, to create a drift pig. So Marty can experience skids while "growing to like dirty Nissans" on the show.

Hopefully they can get to the ~190kw without a turbo which is the estimate for the STi BRZ. But yeah it is crying out for boost, and a better exhaust, seems too quiet/sedate at the moment. A mate of mine is really keen on the 86. I personally will probably stick to my plan of a nice Gen4 when the time comes to upgrade next.
