Ok I know this has been asked a few times but wat is the difference compared from a tt motor in a gen 2 an a tt motor in a gen 3

Reason I'm asking is I threw a Conrod so my gen 3 b4 is ratshit

However I can get a ej20h long block for cheap as chips can I use this block an put all my gear on it ??

I don't have enough money to just buy a gen 3 b4 motor so only reason I'm considering this if not then I'll hav to wreck it down an I don't wanna do that

Gen 3 is a 8 bolt block.

Gen 2 is only a 4 bolt block, but it can to modded to work.

That's the only changes that I know, Hope it helps.

I would think the Gen2 heads couldn't be used as the intake manifold bolt pattern is different?

Also, aren't all the late TT's 9.0:1 static comp ratio? The Gen2 would be 8.5:1? All the later GT-B's were so one can assume the change made it's way across to the RS-K? Correct me if i'm wrong?

Do the 4 bolts that are there line up or does the bolt need all new holes drilled?

From memory, i think you have to do something funky with it so the starter motor fits.

Jimbo is correct on all counts.

Static compression isn't compatible for the Gen3, the tune is all out.

It'll work, it'll run, but it'll go like arse.

Contact Ichiban, surely the lads there have something to suit?

If you are willing to accept the costs of postage I have a B4 long motor with everything removed that needs a rebuild as it's spun a bearing. Not as terminal as a thrown rod. Is a 207 block with 02 B4 heads. It did 27 thousand km before it spun the bearing. Heads got a full recon before they were put on. Just bolt your stuff to it after rebuild. If you need to do it on the cheap the pistons should be completely reusable, as well as the rings. The rods may be able to, depends on how the bearing coped. You'll need to replace the bearings, and get the crank linished. For $100 bucks plus post, it's yours. It weighs a bit.

MY00 Red RX, a nice daily that was sold off once the B4 became reliable...
MY02 Blue B4, aka 'The Project' - v8 JDM STi engine package and assorted other 'goodies' - Sold, then bought back for parts. Stripped and crushed.
MY03 Blue RX, the newer old daily, pretty well more B4 than RX now... In the process of being converted to the track toy... Watch this space!
MY02 Silver Wagon, H6 conversion, full blue/black leather and almost full black interior to go with it.
MY03 White/Silver H6 Outback, donor car for silver waghoon.
MY97 Silver RX, acquired to become track car, but plans changed. To be stripped and scrapped in time.
