Hi!
Did the majority of the control arm bushes on the weekend with my crappy supershit auto 6 tonne press but I had great difficulties removing the front bush on the front lca's. I couldn't for the life of me work out how I could get that awkward shaped lca into the press to punch it out. Has anyone got any tips to get this b*tch out? I've read you can burn the rubber out with an oxy and use a hack saw to cut the outer race but it is a lot of d1cking around and I don't have an oxy.
anyway if you've removed this yourself can you teach me!

Cheers!

I burnt the little LCA bush out with an oxy

and i used a specialised pressing tool for the big bracket

Was quite a bitch

Either persist or buy a workshop a case of beer to press it out for you

Yeah the big bracket one came out easy enough with the El cheapo press I bought. Just couldn't get it onto the front one. What did you do about getting that outer race out of the front one after oxying the guts out?
Only trouble is I need the car to drive to get it to a workshop and I wouldn't imagine it'd drive real straight without the two front lca's ;)

Yeah I had to saw the remaining metal

Was not fun as I ended up scoring the surface where the bush sits
So it took a while to remove all the sharp edges

To be honest I would try and press it out as a unit if possible
Saves the hassle
