Hey

I've checked the Penrite guide and it suggests 75w90 semi synthetic for the gearbox and rear diff

But it also says in the description of the oil that it's not suitable for limited slip diffs
My research says that the subaru viscous diffs don't require anything special so it should be fine

But just wondering if anybody else has had experience with it
Or if it's going to cause an issue or not

Cheers!

Recently changed the oil in my gearbox and both diffs, used Nulon fully synthetic 75w90 and haven't noticed anything yet? Pretty sure Ben runs the same in his wagon and doesn't seem to have any issues with it.

Cheers Alex and Pat

Repco has a oil sale on this weekend so I'll go see what they have

I don't really have a brand preference but I do like Penrite

all good

Everybody is so opinionated about oils haha

I think I've established what I need to get tho :)

I put 75w -85 in my old box and after a couple firm shifts it was crunching so I want to make sure I get the right oil.

I think the bottle may have changed since I last bought it but the syntrax name is the same so I'd say its fine.

Most subaru dealers use syntrax as does the subaru specialist near me. I had fourth gear issues with my old 06 wrx and was like new after using the stuff (flush + fill again under warranty)
