Hey guys,

So i own a 2007 impreza wagon RV shown below.

Attached File  post-3772-0-89632700-1412147931.jpg   117.59KB   12 downloads

I was unsure what to do with the car, i wasn't sure if i keep it as a daily and buy a project car or sell it and get something new. I was thinking for a while i should turbo it but kept thinking it will cost a fortune, so after months of thinking i thought stuff it whats better than a good looking car its a good looking car that you built the way you want it.

So today i was very fortunate to find a 2001 bugeye WRX that had been hit in the rear this car is immaculate full service history 120,000km and i managed to score the motor complete for $1400 i will be picking the beast up on monday and i will be rebuilding the motor and will add photos as i go.

If anyone has any recommendations for engine reconditioners or good strong internals to use please leave some suggestions.

I thought as its out of the car i may aswell make it bulletproof :)

Stay tuned for more.

Probably need to ask yourself what you want from it

You could just chuck a set of rods, pistons and head studs
With some head work and make some good power safely

As for specific brands I'm not really sure

older motor in newer car = registration problems in NSW. engine won't meet emissions for your model. have you checked into that side of it yet?

MY06/07 engines came with 2.5l with extra emissions gear. engineering is stupid hard these days also (and expensive)

VF27 thats a turbo of a twin turbo set up, you may have trouble fitting that, unless you mean VF23/24/28/29

WRX went to 2.5l in your current body shape with emissions gear on it. all i'm saying is older motor in newer frame tend to have issues.

A little bit off topic but I saw your car a Kirawee Tynan today, man. I remember reading something about you working there? I live just down the road. Nice car :)

Yeap, that's where he works. I frequent the area too as I work for the Sutherland Shire Council. I see his car almost daily, ha ha.
