Just buy a turbo'd suby straight out, don't screw about with conversions.

Its honestly not worth the hassle, hey Blaeven!

hell no there is no way i would do what he did even if some1 else paid for it!!! (sorry blaeven) yeah i do love my gen2 rx but as you say after adding up all the cost and whatnot involved in it would be much eaiser for me to buy one.. just sell the rx to the miss's and buy a legacy!!!! sounds like a win to me cheers Its honestly not worth the hassle, hey Blaeven! AFAIK a v3/v4 turbo engine into a gen2 RX is relatively cheap and pain free... i don't think conversions are stupid... just ones involving putting larger capacity engines into smaller cars i wouldn't ever recommend doing an H6 conversion to anyone... unles you were purely going for big numbers, were going to turbo it and had very very very deep pockets... turbo conversion on the other hand... seems like a good idea, how else do you get a gen2 sedan with a turbo, without importing an RS??

It would have made sense to convert a Liberty a few years ago. However, the price of Legacy's and turbo Liberty's in Australia have come down so much, along with everything else in the car market, that it makes sense to just buy something fast straight out of the box and skip stuffing around.

That said - I've got massive respect for those turbo conversion owners such as Dylan, Alex and Aek who have, and continue to pour lots of time money and effort into getting their original cars to a specification that they desire. Particularly the backyard conversion of Dylan's RX - that thing was just epic!

GWINNY - don't be too quick to turn down converting your car. If for example you've got this sort of emotional attachment to your car like I do, it may be well worth the money converting it. And you can't put a price on love :D

///Oh and theres no sedan to wagon conversion....so just get yourself a wagon. We all know its better ;)

I'm not having a go at you or anything like that, but for most people - that would be a reason to KEEP the car.

Is it just a case of you always wanting to own a Rexy? Either way - its good to see you staying in the Subaru family :)

there is zero rush to sell.

if i dont get what i'm after (i am quite reasonable by the way) i will keep it. there is no real money to spend on the car its all done for you!

not just a rex, an sti. no point in just getting a rex, get all the extra gear in the sti. particularly looking at a white 05 sti.
