Hey guys/girls,

Not sure if this has been asked already sorry if it has.

I have purchased a 2005 xt forester and it's pretty much all stock. Stock height etc.

I want to install a whiteline rear sway bar to get rid of that 'boaty' feeling.

I want to keep the stock height.

I know dropping it on wrx suspension would sort it out too but i like the height.

Sooo the question is do i need all the extra stuff for the sway bar (heavy duty mounts etc)

or can i just buy the sway bar and it will install fine?

Thanks

When I bought my foz, it already had upgraded front and rear swaybars set on soft with the heavy duty mounts and it didnt have that boaty feel to it. I changed the setting to hard and handled better again...

Make sure you get new uprated links too. You'll bend the stock ones

heres my setup.

22mm front Swaybar (BSF33 ) + HD endlinks (KLC32)
Whiteline 22mm adjustable rear sway bar (BSR35XZ) + HD endlinks (KLC32) + HD mounts (KBR18-22) + Link Bracket Support (KBR16)

rear Lateral link supports and hd mounts are a must you will break the stock ones

Have you put any more thought into squeezing some more power out of the engine. Like strapping on one of those intake fans

Yes the factory gear is rubbish, I had a 22mm without any mounts or links and basically destroyed all the factory gear! I have just done Sti alloy rear arms, hd link, hd mounts and 24mm rsb

I've got pretty much exactly what Cameron has, minus the front swaybar (I have HD mounts on the stock bar) and it's fantastic.

Add grippy tyres to the mix and you've got yourself great handling machine.
