hey guys

so im in the market for a STI TMIC for my 02 bugeye rex. iv emailed a wrecker about one off a 02 sti and for the TMIC and splitter assembly he only wants $450 which i didnt think was to bad.

is the 02 STI TMIC all that different from the 02 wrx one? is it different enough to be worth the 450?

the mods im  gathering up are

kobe inlet and maf pipe, like supporting fellow members ;)

Walbro 255lph fuel pump

3" ultrex TBE

catless uppipe

TMIC and splitter

and a larger hood scoop, feeling the air duct style from the blob eye sti's

then its off for a tune from GotItRex.

on a side note what do you think of my list? opinions?

im all about bang for buck and like to hunt out a bargain when i can and get the most for my money like many of us here, anyway.

cheers guy

luke

There is a pretty massive difference between the WRX and STI cooler, the stock WRX cooler is tiny. $450 isn't a great deal so it would want to be in excellent condition but the splitters are pretty hard to come by.

You should get a 3 port boost solenoid too.

IMO the blob eye scoops like silly on bug eyes, if I were you I would be trying to find a bug STI scoop.

the link to that first inter cooler is the same guy who is offering me the 02 sti TMIC and splitter for 450 might ask him what he wants for just the splitter and buy that intercooler on his ebay :P

i have contacted STI Heaven about a top mount and splitter and waiting on a response from him then i go from there i guess

already got an ultrex TBE :/

what differences are there between say the bugeye and blob eye STI TMIC?

cheers aek that is quite a difference in size lol

looks like a 3 port solenoid is on the list

aw really? mad ill pm you

hey on a massive side note, my cars apparently a club spec evo 5, but dosent have the stickers on the side or the little plate saying what number it is ? any other way of identifying it besides the obvious yellow paint and sunroof, kinda liked the idea of having it numbered and a little plate showing that lol

If you haven't got the walbro already id recommend a Deatschworks DW200 http://www.prospeedr...x-sti-01-07.htm much more reliable as there are rip off walbros getting around

with the mods you have together should see 160-170kw atw.

I'd also chuck a boost gauge on especially when your planning to run increased boost

Don't forget with a 3 port you will need to tune the car as the boost controller will spazz out with the factory tune.
