Not the greatest photo, but the best I could get.

Girlfriends dad took it upon himself to remove the compomotives and put his GD rims on (the swap we had planned originally)

I then found out he is going to get them powdercoated and a fresh set of rubber put on them for me. That was unexpected. I was planning to have to pay for it myself, so big win in that department

Anyway, torqued to spec is just the manuals way of saying 'we couldn't get it any tighter, see if you can'.

Nice bar young man, this should make a big difference to the way it handles.

Few things got done today, if you had seen the for sale thread you'd know that I bought an rx sedan to tear down and take what I need from it.

Car is currently at Ty's house as him and nick both wanted bits and bobs from it.

On wednesday I headed over and pulled the front bar, side skirts, pods, and door cards and jammed them in the Outback

Today the front bar went on, and wow, what a difference it makes than the blue bar

Also added a 5 speed red stitch knob for the aesthetics of it all

(Yes, I am grabbing my knob)

My new ver 5 sti rack also showed up friday afternoon and should be in the car tomorrow (Hopefully)

Legacy garnish I bought from a fellow member finally made it on to the car and is a lot better looking than the one that it replaced

With any luck it should be up for a road worthy and rego within the next month or so. Happy days :)

Photo dump time, so long story short, rego took longer than expected, mainly from my reluctance to spend money on RWC etc.
I finally bit the bullet and went and got it done.

Had the steering rack put in, only to find one of the rack ends was worn and had to be replaced (not particularly happy about that after I paid $200 for the rack), but was a nice surprise to find that the only thing my 350k kms old car needed for road worthy, was 2 new tyres, a windscreen and rear sway bar bushes which was quite impressive.

Getting said road worthy

Completely stripped the interior to clean it out, broke out the gerni and a scrubbing brush and went to town

How do you like the rack? Worth the coin or racecar mod?

I can't say I've noticed a huge difference, but I never really drove it with the stock one in. It does however feel really responsive, so will be good in the corners

So yesterday I spent most of the day driving and enjoying having the car on the road, managed to put about 200kms on it.

Snapped this pic late arvo

Attached File  12231432_10153701427362801_2049517174_n.jpg   153.22KB   9 downloads

Only negative of it all yesterday was that I found whoever did the speaker wiring/Headunit has made an absolute meal of it all.
Passenger side front speaker doesn't work at all, even though there is signal from the wires, Drivers side one works fine. When you fade it to the rear of the car, then to the left (passenger side), sound comes out of the rear drivers side...

Ty had a look last night and seems to think they may be wires touching some where, or that the headunit wires have been crossed, so the plan for today is to pull the headunit and try and diagnose the source of the problem
