I apologies if this is not the correct place to post this.

I want to whiten the brand and model lettering on my tyes like you see on some 4wds.
I've seen it done on a few cars around the forums and I was wondering if there were any tips or best products to use.

Cheers

You can buy paint pens off Ebay to do it.

If you have budget China spec tyres, dont do it.

I don't think there is anything available that is permanent/long-term, and the products that are won't be healthy for what makes up your tyre. Or so I've heard anyway.

I used a paint pen. Lasts ages if you don't use tyre shine.

I don't see how it could damage the tyre....

I just remember reading it somewhere on the forum. Someone said the chemicals in whatever paint/pen you use could react with the compound/s of the tyre. Not sure how much I agree as it's so insignificant but food for thought nonetheless. I like my tyres black.

Tried it out today as all 4 tyres are being replaced next week (scary amount of understeer + HVC prep).
The tyre stick pen thing I bought from Supercheap was super crap and a waste of $8.50 so I tried some white oil based paint. Degreased and sanded the letters with 1200 grit paper and whacked it on. Looks alright in my opinion but the real test will be how it lasts with all the heat and movement and compression.

Ha, a lot of effort to white the lettering. Chuck up a pic or two of how it looks.

Most of the time I'll use a white permanent marker. And a black one works a treat on white walls.
