Hi lads,

What part number would you recommend for a set of braided brake lines for a Gen3?

HEL Website is wishy washy, and has no true reference for them.

They are the six piece kit, with the two piece rears, along with the single piece fronts.

Cheers

SUB-04-034

Worked for me - but I can't recall if they were 4 or 6 piece.

Ok... I knew I had this info from when I bought a set

see this thread for confirmation. They're a 4-line set.

Note their part numbers seem to go <MANUFACTURER>-<# LINES>-<NNNN>, too.

No no no, I've been through this before haha you need the BL/BP set which comes with 4 short houses for the multi link rear end. It is exact fit as I have that very kit on my car and you get to keep the factory hardlines in the rear....
For some stupid reason Hel have no idea what kind of brake-lines a Gen 3 Liberty has!!!

As Myles said, just order a Gen4 set. All Gen4's are 6 piece and an identical setup to the Gen3's.

Thanks for the confirmation lads.

Confusion was epic when I was checking, as I'm 100% certain Gen3's were four piece brake lines because of multilink rear end. Sadly looks like HEL don't really know. Even appears Gen Iv's are incorrectly listed as two piece rears. Only the H6 Gen4 listings are for four piece rears (six pieces total).

Ironically, I had the opposite argument when I had my Gen2 when I was at a popular race supplies shop in West Sydney, ordering a set of Goodridge lines. He was adamant I had four piece rears, I was adamant I had two piece.

He sold me the kit with two piece rears (GC8 kit) saying that if they didn't fit, I couldn't come and bring them back as I was going against his advice.

He was right though. I never ever went back.

I got HEL lines on Wednesday for my Gen4. Invoice at home, but I'll post up the part number later on if that's of any help. I believe they were a 6-line kit but I'm not 100% sure until I see the invoice again.

I also believe Stoptech do braided lines, that was the only other one I really considered...

Ha!

I just had a quick squiz under my rear wheel arch this morning - can confirm (if it needed it) that its 2-piece rear, so I still have one set of rubber hoses.

I'll have to hit up HEL for 'the 2 lines you have in your BP/BL kit that you don't have in your BH kit' - that'll confuse the fork out of them!

This is the only kit you need for a Gen3 or Gen4...

Ive done 2 group buys on ClubLiberty a few years ago for Goodridge braided lines.

Unless HEL can drop the price considerably, Id look at Goodridge from the USA. Was working out to about $140 a set iirc Although prices have probably gone up since then. ADR compliant also.

I didn't notice the price until now. They look top notch though. I'd be happy to organise a group buy if there is enough interest.

Ha ha, I'd love to organise it but I just cannot afford to have a set for myself just yet...

Happy birthday by the way. ;)
