Does anyone have any positive results with painting the moulding and the pods and have advice, or if not does anyone know where I could source white ones, maybe part numbers from subaru?
Thanks guys

Just don't bend them once painted
Otherwise it will crack the paint

Supercheap auto do automotive paints. They do rattle cans and paint cans. That's where I bought my 51E from. That said, it did seem fairly exxy, so I'll compare prices with an auto paint place next time.

Yeah, it's something like that. I think the price of a 300g aerosol is about $30. A 1L can was about $25, so I bought the can.
And you make another good point. No disrespect intended to the staff member who served, but he wasn't a painter, it looked like he'd barely used the paint mixer before (had to get the instructions out), and the tints are measured by hand. I don't know if an auto paint shop measures & mixes by machine, but I'll definitely check that out next time.
That said, if you're only doing those trims and the spats, you'd easily get away with just using a rattle can. Prob two cans of clear.
Or mail them up to Newcastle and I'll happily paint them for you.

When you paint plastic you need to use plastic primer first and adding some 'flexaid' to the paint mix will reduce its tendency to crack.
If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?

I've painted my spats and front lip to match my body colour and just used plastic primer, base and clear and they have been on the car for about 8 months and they're fine. Also waiting for the weather to warm up to do the side trim like you want to do.
I used supercheap to get everything that you need and its a pretty fun D.I.Y project

Tidy result! Nice work.
When you do the door trims, do you think you'll pull them off or just mask the door?

Thanks guys.
I'm going to tape off the doors. I think pulling off the door trims and trying to re-attach them will be too compliacted and knowing my luck something bad would happen.
I do have a test trim piece from the wreaker that I will be trying a couple of things to try and get a smooth finish. The stock trims you will notice that they are not a flat surface (kinda rough) so I will be trying either primer filler or sanding to try and get it smooth. I'll update with results once the weather warms up.
