I have purchased a gc8 STi RA quick steering rack for my 2000 model WRX and looking at replacing the rack & pinion mount bushings whilst i'm at it with Whiteline items.

 

Whiteline have two items listed:

• KSR200 with 25mm wide bracket passenger side
• KSR202 with 30mm wide bracket passenger side

Anyone done this mod or know what kit I would be after?

Dont you just measure the passenger side mounting bracket? Ie the ones you bolt the rack up with?

If its 30mm wide get the 30mm set and vice versa

Im actuallt running the 30mm bush on a 25mm bracket with no ill affects...the things going nowhere

May get around to swapping it one day if i cbf

As Matt said, get under the car and measure the width.

The new steering rack hasn't turned up yet so wasn't sure if it would be the same diameter as the standard one that is currently in there as it seems there must be two different parts out there.

Though this makes me think it may not be so critical

Well i just ordered a 25mm set and will be picking it up this arvo lol


The diameter of the racks are a touch different between some....but the way the bush mates up it doesnt matter as it doesnt end up a perfect clamped circle

Its just the width of the bush mating into the bracket

Ok i'm with you now I was confused thinking that the bracket was I guess shallower or deeper. Thats easy then can just measure up the bracket on there now and get it ordered.
