G'day guys

I'm looking at buying some STI front seats for my Gen 3 Liberty and I'm not sure if anything needs to change. When i was looking at bucket seats i needed to change the rails to make them fit, so i was curious. Do i need to change the rails on the STI seat for them to fit or will they bolt straight into the car?

Cheers

Scott

Rear seats are funny, generally not many models have cross compatibility when it comes to those, as they are generally made to suit the widths of the vehicle they are designed for. I think gc8 and gen 2's have some cross compatibility but the gc8 seat is slightly narrower than the lib, and it looks odd, but it can be done. Mounting points on the gen 3's aren't shared by any other models I believe. Someone else may be able to clarify that though, it's been a while and I can't give a definite answer.

Cheers,
Ben

MY00 Red RX, a nice daily that was sold off once the B4 became reliable...
MY02 Blue B4, aka 'The Project' - v8 JDM STi engine package and assorted other 'goodies' - Sold, then bought back for parts. Stripped and crushed.
MY03 Blue RX, the newer old daily, pretty well more B4 than RX now... In the process of being converted to the track toy... Watch this space!
MY02 Silver Wagon, H6 conversion, full blue/black leather and almost full black interior to go with it.
MY03 White/Silver H6 Outback, donor car for silver waghoon.
MY97 Silver RX, acquired to become track car, but plans changed. To be stripped and scrapped in time.

GC8 and GD bolt nicely into a gen 1 and 2. Subaru started changing things with the gen 3 so only seat that will fit a gen 3 rear is a gen 3 rear afaik. I have a gen 3 seat shoe horned into the back of my gen 2 and its close to fitting but the mounts are either shorter for wider

Otherwise get the rarer RS30 seats. They are even nicer.

Are you sure? I'm not up on RS30 but have seen pics of what's meant to be RS30 but looks like Heritage leather seats. Was it E-tuneII that had the GTB seats in leather?

Yep, sure.

Got all the pics and details in my JDM brochures for every model.

Mine is a GTB E-tune II. Cloth seats standard in them.
