Hi Guys,

I am running out of budget for my upgraded Forester XT project.

Instead of a full SS 3" turbo back exhaust which I would really like to get, I'm thinking of getting the following instead:

http://www.ebay.com....tm/141800145391 and

http://www.ebay.com....tm/141811829468

Questions -

Will this have a significantly higher flow rate than the standard system?

Will it bolt up without requiring any modifications?

Are any other basic breathing mods required before I get a full tune to 'unleash the beast', eg: cold air intake, up pipes, etc?

How will this compare to a full 3" TBE for power output once tuned?

I'm basically trying to decide whether to go 2nd hand to get 90% of the performance at 50% of the price, or wait 6-12 months for the budget to recover and getting the 3" TBE and tune then...

:-)

Do you know what diameter that dump pipe is?

The stock SG9 STI mid pipe should be 2.25", and it looks like the rest of that exhaust is the same.

The dump doesn't have the "wastegate wall" that the stock SF and GC systems had, I don't know if your stock system has it too, I assume it would eg:

For ~$700 shipped it probably meets your suggestion of "90%of the performance at 50% of the price", though it depends what your future plans are I guess.

Did you end up buying it? I see both are now sold.

Those Greddy Trust Mufflers can be very loud.

A good suggestion is get a catless uppipe as well, http://forums.nasioc...ad.php?t=443943, you will need a tune after you change the dump (dump makes it turbo back)

Stock airbox with highflow panel filter can handle up to 200 odd kw.

Yeah shoot if you don't already have a catless uppipe get on that before tune. I'll have a spare out of my foz available shortly, would be cheepcheep. They're easy to find, have a look local first.

Nah I'm in central victoria.

An older OEM one eg SF5 or GC8 would be $50.

Get the pipework modified to 2.5 or 3"... Make sure the inlet is bored out to 2.5 or 3".. Will help with flow
