Hi guys, this may have been covered sorry if it has ( I searched the Forums back to early 2015s and my phone dosnt want to load much more) but what I need to know is, I have a opportunity to swap my stock I/c for a sti one, my issue is I know I should get a tune but done want to pay for one until I at least get a dump pipe but the chance will have well passed by the time I have the cash then would have to buy a Sti ic, so will It cause nothing but dramas so I shouldn't bother or go a head with the free part

You'll be fine.
I'm assuming this isn't a GC era STi intercooler, if it is don't bother as it's not an upgrade at all.

kind of on topic, whats the best bang for buck IC upgrade for the GDA EJ205 with full TBE and intake+sfb? Is one even needed if still using the TD04?

Sorry to thread jack!

The stock GD IC is perfectly adequate for a td04 at ~1bar or less. I don't have the data anymore but I stuck a temperature probe in that setup years ago and it had no problems with 12psi in summer.
