Nice pick up on the conversion.

Saw that bar on gumtree this morning, looks like you got a bargain

Actually bought the bar on Ebay for a fraction of the price it was listed for on Gumtree, so that was a win.

Thanks guys, it's all coming together nicely now.

Sweet find! That bar should look the goods as well once it's on.

The bar looked pretty aggressive on the sedan it was on, but that sedan didn't have the pods like mine, so that should smooth it out a bit

Anyway, torqued to spec is just the manuals way of saying 'we couldn't get it any tighter, see if you can'.

Everything found so far is pretty standard. Few goodies here and there that will fetch a few bucks. But nothing amazing

Paint on the sti is irrelevant though Bennie ;) we just want the goodies it holds

Sorry Joss, as a late comer to the thread I was talking about the blue smurf ;)

There's nothing great about the paint on that WRX! Why was it at the auction anyway?

Ahhhh that makes a little more sense now.

The smurf's paint is awesome considering age of the car and how a lot of the other gen 2s are going paint wise. But I think it's cheated a little, it's showing a lot of signs of a close door respray at some stage (minus the roof), which I'm not complaining about as it was done reasonably well

The STI was recorded as a stolen and recovered vehicle which would have been written off afterwards due to its age. Not recorded on the WOVR though so could still be re-registered, but no desire to do so. The engine will look much better in the RX

Anyway, torqued to spec is just the manuals way of saying 'we couldn't get it any tighter, see if you can'.

The STi has dents on every panel. No wonder it got written off

So it runs with out blue smoke or leprechauns tapping away?

Looks like a good sore for its intended use ;)

Gonna give that bitch an update, bitches love updates.

Started collecting some goodies for the conversion, turbo intake, braided oil feed, just little stuff that can be done quite easily.

Also picked up a timing kit and waiting to order water pump and other bits and pieces from Partsouq.

GOtfCqrl.jpg

Also grabbed some rack bushes to do them while when the rack goes in too

qhbXP1Wl.jpg

Accidentally also stumbled across a set of monsoons which will be on as soon as I can be bothered ripping the old tape off...

dFy6DxMl.jpg?1

For the conversion, I wanted to go straight to a 3" exhaust and avoid running a stock system all together, because boost and KW and stuff, so picked up a nice 2nd hand stainless dump, and will get the dump back fabbed up after the engine goes in.

MoB3i9Tl.jpg?1

Conversion had originally been planned for November 20th, but the recently overheating of the car, and the fact it shat a front cam seal two days ago leaving me with an oil pressure light and oil puking all over the passenger side front everything, including brakes. No good.

The mentality always was, if the 25D needed an decent work, done to keep it operating, we'd just do the conversion because it wasn't worth plugging the 25D back up.

As it seems, the 25D is well beyond feasible repairs, so the conversion date appears to have been pushed up

So how far along is the donor prep for the conversion?

I bet it'll move in leaps and bounds now!
