Hi guys, I am moving one of my Subies I have had in storage for the last 5 years on the weekend, it hasn't been started for a while, like about 4 years, any suggestions on anything I should do prior to starting it besides the obvious stuff of having fresh fuel, a good battery and checking the oil etc ?

Thanks

Paul

I Was thinking about that, being that plugs are a PITA to remove I might just try unplugging the coil packs perhaps.

Taking the ignition and fuel pump fuse out will have the same effect

Yep I was going to suggest removing fuse instead to make it easier.

I put up with people from amnesty, red cross and now the cancer council almost daily hounding me!! Throw in the greens, green peace, unhcr, save the forking children and I've well and truly hit my limit for the number of fuckstains wanting me to sign something or give money. A can of WD 40 and a can of contact cleaner. Also be careful of dry rotted tyres, I've had some delaminate before, rather uncool.

+1 to removing fuel pump fuse/relay.

Unless its on blocks, tyres will have flat spots. I wouldn't worry too much about perished tyres as they have been out of the sun so no UV.

Maybe a few more psi in them and a squirt down the freeway to get them round again.

If this is the unmolested Gen1, then I'm sorry to see it go.

If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?
