Hi all, recently picked up a 2nd hand B4 TT Liberty.. During my 4 hour trip home i had an engine light come one and could smell a very strong oil burning smell.. Also now have zero pull from the turbo's as if they are non existent and seems no power at all. My child could literally outrun my car now. Error code came back as p1087. I dont even know where to begin. Any help/suggestions??

Hello Hylo43. Plenty of info on this site regarding the TT when you search. You might also want to first introduce yourself in the "Introductions" section of this forum......hopefully you will sort this quickly and be able to enjoy your new ride.

First find out where she's burning oil and is there any left in the sump.

Smoke out the back? Was it coming out the exhaust, or oil on hot exhaust/dump/header/turbo or something?

Yeah still oil in the sump. Smoke from engine bay as if burning off exhaust or manifold. Initial sight of burning coming up between intercooler and manifold .

check out the IACV (intake air control valve) - up above the secondary (driver's side) turbo - which switches the secondary turbo outlet to the TMIC.

Blowby collecting in the TMIC often ends up at that valve and sometimes drips out -- worth pulling the TMIC and giving it a good flush with petrol anyway.

If that's the case - also pull all the vac lines coming from around that area (I think there's three on the secondary TMIC inlet) clean them all, and any solenoids in the BBOD,  with some carb cleaner or similar.

Ive got the intercooler out and theres a decent amount of oil in it. Plus all hoses leading to it.
Car has also developed a grinding sound and what sounds like a wastegate issue begging at around 2300rpm..
Truly clueless..

Sorry to say, but sounds like the primary turbo is blown.
