Current Mods:

Engine:

  • Standard engine (WRX heads swapped in recall at 125,000kms)
  • TD05
  • Walbro 255
  • Custom 3" exhaust with Aeroflow muffler
  • Z5 ECU (WRX RA) running 1 bar
  • Gen2 airbox setup
  • Alloy expansion tank

Driveline:

  • Stock but very noisy synchros

Suspension and Wheels:

  • BC BR Coilovers
  • GC8 Alloy front control arms
  • MRT 20mm Rear sway bar
  • MRT 22mm Front sway bar
  • WRX 6 spoke rims wrapped in RE003's
  • Whiteline rear camber bolts

Brakes:

  • WRX 4pots up front
  • 2pot rears

Exterior:

  • Keep it as original looking as possible
  • Legacy tail lights

Interior:

  • Defi Boost Gauge
  • Custom Extinguisher Bracket

To do list:

  • Get US size plates
  • Either recover or find replacement steering wheel
  • Rebuild original engine I had in my first RS - pistons, rods, headbolts

I saw this car a few months before I ever considered owning it, the price back then was way too high for me so I gave it a miss.

Fast forward 5 months later and I noticed the price had halved and the pictures were alot clearer. I quickly got onto the seller and found that someone had told him there was a bad oil leak so he had adjusted the price because he was unable to do any work to it. Using my tax return I was just able to afford it and the price to get it shipped down from Noosa.

Once it arrived I started getting it ready for rego, didn't take much. The rocker covers were leaking real bad so I got them replaced with genuine replacements. The turbo inlet was also rock hard and I luckily got one of the last new ones in Aus. Other than just generally cleaning up the engine bay that was it.

The stock coolant tank was on the car but during the turbo inlet swap one of the nipples broke off it completely, it was very brittle and was probably lucky it happened then not while I was driving it.

Current details follow:

I am the 2nd owner of this car, no signs of any accidents or rust at all.

Pretty much full service history from the moment he bought the car till 285,000kms, the car is currently at 317,000kms.

It's in completely stock condition, nothing has been modified in anyway on the car and I plan on keeping it that way for now and only doing a few small changes.

Hey I was watching this one for some time. Nice score!

I'm jealous how stock/clean it is!! And second owner - pretty much unheard of!

Love the wagons!

Thanks guys, I'll definitely be keeping this one for a long time to come. It just keep impressing me how clean is it for a 23 year old car..

Anything stock that I take off the car will be going into storage, I'll have a little fun with it now but eventually I'll revert it back to it's original form

Add some wrx wheels and seats, plus some 4 pots.

I think red calipers go well with a white car.

I miss my white RS wagon. But it wasn't as tidy as this one and went off to a better place.

Fair bit done in last few weeks, decided the car needed a good going over and at the same time I'd add some of the parts off the other RS. While keeping it stock would be a good idea to some I want to have some fun so plan is to keep it all plain and simple.

What went on:

BC BR Coilovers
Z5 WRX RA ECU
TD05
WRX 6 spoke rims
Gen2 airbox setup
3 inch exhaust fitted with new cat, hotdog and muffler
Whiteline ball joints/tie rod ends
Defi boost gauge
Alloy control arms
Front sway bar
Walbro

What's left to do:
Legacy tail lights
Clean up engine bay

Some pictures of how it's sitting now

That's funny! I *just* put these rims on my RS last weekend!

I reckon mine will need to be lowered a little to really set it off. But there's bigger things to work on!

Keep up the good work.

Cheers
