Newmarket/Windsor is pretty affordable, and nice burbs. Plenty of sharehouses in Kedron aswell.

There is good and bad on both sides. I've spent most of my time in Brisbane near Bribie Island and Redcliffe. I'd like to get closer to Brisbane as I work at Roma St, but its nothing a 10-20min bus/train ride can't fix. I quite like the area around Carina / Carindale atm. I'm wanting a newish/renovated place with double garage and enough space for a small dog. Hopefully next year sometime.

Buying or renting Chris? We're buying an investment in Cannon Hill/Morningside area maybe in next 6 months.

Cousin lives in Carina, plenty of nice little townhouses popping up there. But yeah I second your 20min comment, I lived at Ferny Grove and Ascot, not much difference in commute time when you compared Ferny G express vs Bus to Racecourse Rd. And Ferny G was so nice, being a bit out of the city.

Buying. Unfortunately the 10-20min areas are getting in the 600's and we're probably best around 500. I'm just waiting for my girlfriend to change her job, and to recover the cost of the WRX. She finished her degree a few months ago. But other than a couple of phone interviews, none of the banks have given her a go yet. She works at Carindale, I work at Roma St. Her family is at Oxley and mine at North Lakes.

My car gets garaged at her place. Her mum built a carport with an automatic garage door. But the builder has gone awol, she hasn't paid him yet either. The only thing left is the retaining wall, but I just use the other side of it for now, away from danger.

Plenty in the 500 bracket at Cannon Hill.

Yikes Oxley to North Lakes, that's a commute.

Yeah it was a killer when we were dating. It's easier these days. I'm used to long hauls from living out at Bribie for years. Most of my driving happens on the weekends. I drop her at work on the way North, hang with my folks then back down to Carindale to pick her up.

That being said, last time I was in Bris I drove from Ascot to Wamuran in under 40mins, traffic is nothing like Sydney's.

Still need to find a place to live but work is in the valley so probably somewhere nearby. I'm thinking new farm and surrounds if possible

I'm happy to be out of Canberra though

I heard that Logan is nice.

Hope the mov goes well m8.

On a side note, I have been following a few properties around Joyner, Warner & Cashmere.

Compared to Melb they are so affordable.
