Hi Guys.

Trying to remove the centre console on Automatic 2012 subaru impreza my12 (Right Hand Drive) and having no luck finding anything on the net. All the stuff I can find seems to be for Left Hand Drive WRX/s with manual gearsticks and the instructions don't work. Can anyone point me to a video/instructions that would help. Trying to run the DVD immobiliser wire (new stereo) to the handbrake wire as required by law.

Thanks

John

Hi John,

Is this the MY08 shape?

If so you need to pop out the handbrake cover, and then unscrew from there.

Hi Niko. It is a MY12 sedan, not a hatch. Have tried to pull up on the handbrake boot but it feels like the plastic might break. Is there a trick to getting it out?

Naisoc should have something that helps, but honestly I feel like if you are sitting in the driver seat you can pull the handbrake boot panel towards your left leg that pops it out and from there you can access the screws. But a relay will do same job.

Thanks Niko. Will give it another go. What did you mean by "a relay will do same job"?

To be fair I don't think many people actually hook the handbrake wire up anymore, just ground the wire somewhere behind the headunit

Thanks Niko. It worked. Boot lifted enough for me to get to the Phillips screw underneath.

Reevesy. I thought about just grounding the wire but the wife got on my case about making it legal, which swayed my decision.

Anyway it's done now. All connected and legal

Thanks for the suggestions guys.

Much appreciated.
