because godzilla scared the shit out of themInstead of hijacking threads post yr arguements here. Just like to say before we start please refrain from personal insults, and from taking things too seriously.
here we go-
B4>SS - how often do you drive yr road car on a track- not often. B4 WILL leave any falcodore for dead on a REAL road! its just a fact of life that AWD beats RWD hands down. Oh and why did V8's make they're own comp if they're so good...

They couldnt beat the R32 soo they excluded all the good cars and just raced themselves?
After driving my B4 for a couple of months, i would actually prefer to drive an N/A
But i would never buy a V8 commonwhore, just because of the commonness...
what do ya mean?? is it because of the smoothness of an n/a??

Hahaha Fair enough mate!
I think that if you actually went out and drove a VE SS for instance, that you would never have started this thread.
Look, they are both quick cars, but here's a great reason why a stock VE SS will beat the pants of a stock B4.
B4 190kw @ 6400rpm
SS 260kw @ 5700rpm
B4 320nm @ 4800rpm
SS 517nm @ 4400rpm
And before the weight argument comes into it:
B4 1495kgs
SS 1805kgs
That's 310kgs extra to lug around, but the sheer power of that engine more than caters for any weight disadvantages.
You can't bring up that straight line argument either. To do so would just prove that you know nothing about the car. The VE's handle very well for a car of their size.
Why did the V8's make their own comp? Becuase Holden and Ford were spending shite loads on their local touring cars, that couldn't keep up with Godzilla, therefore they created their own competition. I think you should be asking the question, I wonder how a Subaru would do in that series?
Oh wait, they had one recently... That included a few WRX's. I remember now... It was dominated by VE Commodores.
This is really a silly argument to have. I am neither for or against a 4 or an 8 being better than the other. Both cars are great for different purposes and people.
Though having said that, it is just plain stupid to assume that a B4 is faster than an SS.
winner of this years 12hr bathurst production race was... wait for it... a lancer isn't that a 2.0lt AWD OMG povodore only managed 7th. haha. and before you ask where was subaru they didn't enter a car in this years race.
In what category though? Not the same category as the V8's cos they would have FAILED.

Good argument mate!..yeah ill never say ones faster than the other....coz i havnt driven both of them
This is a question not a statement
But (and this isnt a stab or nothing) if Subaru was to go into the V8 supercars, wouldnt it be completely re-vamped compared to a normal subie? and get a V8 instead of a 4 cylinder?
Like there has to be like a total of 0.5% of the original "production" Falcons or Commodores on the race cars,as isnt most of it completely re-fabricated (chassis, engine etc etc etc)

the 12 hr production race is cars pretty much straight off the shelf and yes there were v8's the best a commonwhore could do was a clubsport R8 in 7th
I guess the 12 hour isn't a good comparison due to all of the different divisions. The Lancer that you speak of isn't a Subaru for one and it's in a different division.
Where did Subaru finish?
The leader for the majority of the race was a VE SS Sportswagon, unti the brakes failed or something like that.
All the B4 needs is a tune, mine now has 584mn at the wheels more tourque than most V8's!
and yeah i just prefer an N/A or a supercharger than a turbo for some reason...
Don't forget we're talking about stock cars at the moment!
