After picking up Jim's GTB three weeks ago I thought it was time I started my own build thread.

This is my 3rd Subaru (Gen 3 Liberty wagon, SG XT Forester) and my first automatic. Initially I thought the auto slush box was going to be a real shitter, although I've enjoyed every second of it so far. Nice and cruisey, especially as the twins are working as they should!

My plan for '99GTB' is to finish what was started, to restore it, more or less to how it rolled out of the factory.

To start with I did a complete fluid flush, and then went about getting things done that were beyond me:

-Air con re-gassed.

-Roof/wing resprayed.

The roof needed new paint desperately, and the wing was starting to go and was also in a slightly different shade to the rest of the car.

Super happy with how she looks after the respray! Transformed the entire look of the car.

Next on the list will be replacing the power steering rack, as well as putting on some goodies en-route from the motherland!

Oh man that looks soooooooooooooo much better!

Certainly given her a new lease on life already :D Obviously didn't end up spraying the roof rack end caps?

Noticed there's some paint flaked off on the front bar just above the front lip, what happened!?

Hah your house number is 69 ..... giggety

Had some cans of paint made up in the same colour, so I'll do the roof racks when I can. Took longer than expected at the painter so I doged both hail storms in my area thank fcuk!

The lip didn't like the pressure of my hose and took some off the paint off with her maiden wash. Luckily I have touch up paint to patch her up.

The paint looks great and the colour match looks good too.  Unfortunately my Gen2 RX has the same problem with the roof, bonnet, rear spoiler with the boot lid trying hard to follow suit.  I'm interested how much they stuck your hip pocket nerve for doing the paint job?

Glad to see Jimbo's Legacy still within the subyclub family.

The roof looks great.

Can not wait to see this car again @ HVC2017.

I had a good mate of mine do the spray so I got a crazy deal. The other quotes I got ranged from 850-1300!

Well worth hunting for different quotes, got one back after booking my car in for $350 for the roof from a bloke in Bankstown

Awesome new look. Also glad to see the Legacy continue to have a name for itself. I'm sure if I was Jim I will be elated to see the wagon in someone hands that will take care of it.
