Hi all,

I have been recently considering an upgrade to my WRX. This is the first car i've owned that i've wanted to do work on. I am from Sydney, NSW and was looking at going ahead with the MRT Performance XA-XB kits.

Has anyone got this in their subies? What do they think about it? Or is there better options?

Look forward to hearing from all of you.

Thanks

MRT don't have a particularly good wrap around the Subaru community.

I'm not exactly sure what the XA-XB kits include but I'd say you'd be better off sourcing parts yourself and getting someone like Michael South to put it altogether and give it a proper dyno tune :)

Based on their website, XA is just a tune.
XB is a cat back exhaust and a tune.

As mentioned, they don't seem to be the best respected tuner available.

So it would be better to buy an exhaust that you prefer and get a tune from a good tuner.

for a cat back you dont need a tune,only if you put a turbo back exhaust

you need a tune. what morgan said about MRT

JEM located Ingleburn or MSR Somersby

Cheers for the info guys, i was originally thinking of getting an exhaust, cold air intake and accessport  to see what the power is like.

Would this be a better option?

As these guys mention, MRT polarise opinions, whether deservedly or not There are alot of others options as mentioned.

Some that members have used;
MSR
JEM
Rumble Shack
Ichiban Imports
Motorsport Wiring
Tunehouse

Research the above, obviously location and price will be a factor. Also check their FB sites to see how many MY15 WRXs they have done.

Some other reputable shops;
Parramatta Vehicle Services
V-sport
Sydney Motorsport Engineering
Garage 88

I'm not that familiar with tuning but I saw a facebook post by Ichiban Imports, they had their manual project 2015 WRX done by JEM.

It all depends on what you want out of the car.

If you're wanting considerable power upgrades with the tune then I'd be looking at a full turbo back exhaust, intake, intercooler and custom dyne tune. Not sure what the factory injectors are like on the MY15s but depending on our goals, bigger ones might be worth adding to the shopping list along with an upgraded fuel pump. BOV may also be a weak point and can be upgraded if need be.
However, as already mentioned, adding a catback exhaust doesn't warrant the need to a tune!

Gday all,

Yeah I'm going to ring Adam at JEM next week for a tune on my wrx 2017 she's only done bit over 2000km added a KN panel filter

I like them and feel they make a difference. I also have a set of QFM HPX pads I'll ask them to fit.

I like the new car ticks all the boxes for me only criticism is the brakes I feel are quite poor for the speed of the car I'd only rate them

about 6/10 rest is all good.
