Probably a respray is a better idea. If you buy one new from Subaru it'll still need paint anyway.

Either that or get a second hand one on better condition. Failing that, buy a butt-nugget one and put it on while your existing one is getting resprayed or vica-versa.

Cost of new bar + paint versus cost of existing bar + time/labour to strip + paint.

Ask a panel beater for the cost difference.

Depends on amount of work required to make the existing bar ready for new paint.

I've had heaps of bars painted, only one was bad enough that it was decided that a new bar at $100 more was the best option than the labour required to get the existing one up to spec to paint.

My panel beater said it works out cheaper to paint a new bar and you get a better job, so that's what I did.

If I told you I was a compulsive liar, would you believe me?

How much did it end up costing you?
