G'day guys,

Before I start mucking around with the Project Lambda tuning software it looks as though I'll need to upgrade the fuel pump..

Does anyone know which of these will fit an ej251, 2002 Outback?

Any differences between them?

Deatschwerks DW200:  http://www.prospeedr...c8-wrx-sti.html

Walbro GSS342  http://www.prospeedr...u-wrx-sti-94-07

I'm not 100% sure which (if either??) will fit just yet, i've also heard of the Deatschwerks 65C from a few search results too.. Cheers!

For a gen 3 you need the 65C. Im personally a DW fan. Much quieter and they just plug straight in

Ive run both. Both direct fit for the application and I found noise level no different between the two.

Currently running a DW65C in the Gen3.

Thanks for the replies guys, so basically a 65C will definitely fit.

Cruisin did you mean 'both' as in the dw65c and the dw200 or the Walbro? Cheers

Walbro's in two previous cars and a DW65c in the GTB currently. DW200 isn't a direct fit to a Gen3.

To be honest, the standard fuel pump will delivery more than enough fuel for any tune you will put on it.

My TT conversion is still using the na pump.

Purely changed mine for peace of mind with the kms on the cars. Cheap insurance.

yeh - I'm not sure I'd be relying on that.

The TT pump is rated at 130 l/h. The NA pump is only 65 l/h, H6 is 85 l/h.

For the OP - yeh, std pump is fine.

G'day guys,

I bought a GSS342 and had a go at fitting it last night but its about 10mm longer than the standard pump. Everything else is fine so a few cable ties to hold it in was all that was needed! It cannot fall out as it is so close to the baffle inside the tank which is why I'm actually going to remove it tonight until I can make sure its not rubbing and get a more permanent holding system other than the ties..

FWIW the 65l/h stock pump is only really capable of around 130-135kw @ the flywheel so it has stuff all head room above the stock 115-120kw..

Even the stock 280cc injectors @80% duty cycle only look good for the same power!

Sources of pump and injector HP calculators:

http://www.raceworks...ing-calculator/

https://fuelinjector...flow-calculator

Above 4000RPM and WOT my engine is pretty damn lean, around the low 14:1, tapering towards 12.9:1 at 6000RPM, measured with a Zeitronix wideband and injector duty cycles nudging 80% at 6000rpm.

Apparently to fit the Walbro GSS342 into the fuel tank and like the Subaru B4. You use a piece of wood and put a slight dent in the tank to make the pump fit in. Thats what MRT PERFORMANCE told me to do when I upgrade my pump in my Subaru b4 twin turbo.

which is why you use a DW65C or similar which drops in, instead!
