One I'm looking at only has 53,000kms - http://www.privatefl...vehicle-search/

it's a trade-in from Private Fleet & i know from experinec they just sell em off cheap cheap..   seems ok to me compared with carsales

Had a colleague buy one of these ex-fleet vehicles, a MY12 Outback Premium, only had 30XXX kms. Seemed a good deal, and it was, however I think she had to get some parts serviced prematurely due to the vehicle having a pretty hard life. This might have been a unique situation as her vehicle was used by a Govt department to do rural research.

But for that price, if you budget $2000 for some repairs it's still a good deal.

Seems average to me compared to redbook:

At least on carsales you can negotiate.

It's just a base model and a car thats 8 years old. I wouldn't pay more that $10k.

Sure it's got low km, but it still has the ej25 engine and likely will need a new headgasket soon. Plus if they serviced it based on km and not on time, it's well overdue for a major timing belt service which is every 5 years even if it's under 100,000km.

So timing belt and head gaskets. Plus all the other stuff that ages even when it's not driving, $10k is what I'd offer.
