What's cracking Jase? So much has happened on my end.

 

Bought a unit, married, bought a house, 5-month-old daughter, and gave the Liberty to my brother. I had a new 2018 VW Tiguan (sold last year) and now have a new 2023 Lexus RX350h Sports Luxury. A couple of job changes in between and I'm starting a new role mid this month.

 

Life is good. How's things going for you?

Far out Gaz, you have been busy!! Congrats on the daughter, house and the Lexus . They grow up quick so enjoy.

 

Not much happening down here. RB has barely been driven in the last 2 years (yes I still have it), just sits in the shed under a cover. The novelty of the Megane Sport is starting to wear off so it's in the shed in bits getting ready to move it on in the next few months so then it will be time to blow the dust off the RB.

Hey Kong, hope you had a good one dude! Does HVC still run these days? I feel like I haven't heard much about it the last year or 2... Pre Covid it was massive though.

Been quiet here since the last blackout we had.

Nothing really new here, which is why I haven't posted anything. Tipping others are the same. Life getting in the way of playing cars...

Happy New Year - albeit a late one!!

I’m planning to get more project work squared away this year where possible and as funds allow!

First up was getting a leaking ram on our new to us old mini excavator - it’s awesome to have it operational again. Lots happening at the drop of a hat with it as needed - awesome! Beats shovel work any day!

I’ve got the RS and the brumby turbo project in my sights as major projects this year. I’ve also got Ruby Scoo back home after well over three years under a tarp. She needs a tidy up and a five stud conversion done…

It would be awesome/unreal/grouse to have those three in attendance at Subinats this year but that’s a bit ambitious - plus I’d need mates to drive them up with me (dreams!).

Other big aim: relocate two corrugated iron water tanks to the back of the block, they’re currently at the back of the house blocking our views.

I hope everyone enjoys a top year doing what they love doing!

I was experiencing loads of issues once I tried to log in - then I couldn't access the forum at all.

I know allpaw4 Ben still can’t access the forum. I got him excited when I said to him it was back up again - but alas it’s still doing it’s no access crap for some members it seems.

All good over my way. Drove back from Sydney yesterday over the Blue Mountains and flying to Perth tomorrow. Unusual for me to have this much travel going on. It’s good though!

Good to see you on the forum. Hopefully a few of the old regulars will have access again soon and pop up again.

A post because no one is posting…

Not much happening with my Subarus. Not having a shed sucks in this weather - I have a Pajero that’s not quite half done with a bearing replacement on the front end.

And we’re back into work work work mode…

I need some time to put the turbo intake on the RS and swap the throttle body over - found a puddle sitting in it from the amount of condensation occurring under the bonnet. That’s now cracked open to avoid this situation.

Brumby needs some attention - rear uni joint is on the list to replace. Need to check out the rear wheel bearings, weird stuff happening there and the front end is waiting for new ball joints and tie rod ends.

Fun fun.

Finally back on the forum again. Not much going on. This time of year over the last two years I was preparing for Subinats. Sadly not this year (and it was my trifecta years too!).

The brumby had its uni joints replaced. That’s about all the excitement over my way atm.

I seem to remember a post in this thread from Jasehoon, but it seems to have disappeared... Hopefully everything is good!

Bought a few new things for the gen5, another set of black trims so I could get cheap visors, need to get off my arse and sell the rest of the trims, recoup some costs.
LED Valenti tails, cos why not.
Alloy front lower control arms, cos the steel ones needed new bushes (worn inner edges of tyres, typical subaru). They were cheap compared to local prices, and came with brand new bushes already fitted, so I'll take an upgrade over replacements any day of the week.

Arms are somewhere between sydney and home from the slow boat shipping, and tails are also somewhere between japan and sydney, once again on the slow boat.

Gen3 is still on the hoist, midway through pulling the 5spd out for the 6spd to go in, but haven't had the time to get out there and do anything proper on it. Still need to source a plated diff of the correct ratio, but I've been spending money on my other hobby, so not much has really happened on the gen3 front. I'll get there...

Anyways, until the next not so soon update, keep well all!
