Ive just purchased a 2002 b4 liberty twin turbo with a blown engine.

I can also get my hands on a wrecked 2012 wrx with low k's cheap.

Is there anything that will stop me from doing a engine/turbo and running gear conversion to the b4??

Thanks in advance..

The wiring will be the main one. Should be able to swap your manifold onto the WRX engine and do a single turbo conversion. But your ecu will be expecting twins and 2L not 2.5

nothing will stop you -- but there are a bunch of things to consider to make the path as easy as possible.

2012 will be CANbus -- run away from that ECU and electrics, cos you'll probably never get it going. Things like the CAN speed sensor will screw you up.

Three options:

1/ Drop the whole thing in then look at rewiring with an aftermarket ECU

2/ as above, put your B4 intake manifold (plus whatever sensors are different, like cam and crank) on it and get the B4 ECU retuned for the lower CR (?) and single turb.

3/ just swap the longblock (? not sure if this is doable).

2 is probably best.

When you say 'cheap' - you can pick up a JDM TT front cut for a couple of grand, or a new 207 longblock for similar $$

I found an easy solution.

This guy reckons his canbus emulator will sort me out.

What do you think, is this canbus emulator a game changer or what?

certainly looks like a neat solution to the CANbus problem, neat find.
