Hi people, brought home a mint 2001 liberty RX today. Seriously was owned by a little old lady and has 61000 km on the clock.
The service book shows it has had 3 services in its life!!!
My question is should I get the timing belt changed regardless of the low km,s?
Any advice appreciated

Welcome to Subyclub. Post up some pictures for us! We love pictures

The timing belt should be changed every 4 years or 100k kms.

By 3 services do you mean 3 oil changes or 3 major services? Id be doing the timing belt, idlers, tensioner and water pump for sure.

3 oil changes!!!.... According to book it has had a 15, 31 & 46K service...... Nothing else..... Its as new as 2001!!!! Off to the local dealer for some new bits then. Thanks Bruce, the transmission shifts fine..... But do you think it might be worth a service on this too as it has done so little work?

Thats concerning. Major service for sure.

Id be changing all the fluids on the car. Coolant, engine oil, front and rear diffs and gearbox fluid

Yep, as above. I would do everything. A lot of the seals and things have probably hardened over time which can lead to the thing leaking junk everywhere.

If you're doing the timing belt, might be an idea to do the crank and cam seals, too. Rear main seal and valve cover seals are probably a good idea too.

Sounds like a mad score, freshen it up and keep it clean and you'll have years of happy motoring.
