Hi all
I've got to change both steering rack bushes on my gen 3 wagon. Is it worth installing this kit from whiteline at the same time.

http://www.whiteline...t_number=KCA313

It's currently riding pretty low on BC Racing coilovers (scrubs front guards) and whiteline reckon their kit is essential for lowered cars.

I've got to replace rear lower control arm bushes too so thought I may aswell freshen the front end up a bit.

Cheers

Don't really know if it makes a difference if you go really low (think it goes past the point of keeping the roll centre actually centred).

From memory, SuperPro's kit was cheaper.https://www.superpro...oductnr=TRC0002

Car Mods Australia is currently having a sale on whiteline stuff so I may grab them and try them out.

If you haven't already, get some quotes from a few of your local Whiteline dealers, they might be able to do an even better price. Especially if you can get it at trade.

Repco for example, if you have a trade account or know someone that does, you should be able to get at least 30% off RRP.

Picked up the kit and control arm bushes this afternoon, looks and feels like a decent bit of kit.

Well got it all installed today, ball joints were a pain in the ass, one side took over and hour of prying and hammering to remove it from the steering knuckle, the other took a couple of taps and it just fell out.

Personally i think the kit is definitely worth the money. Coupled with their lower control arm castor bushes the front end feels so much more solid and responsive.
Steering input feels a little stiffer, but a hell of a lot shaper.

Good stuff, did you end up getting all the gear from CMA? Did you get the comfort ALK (75 duro)[KCA361]?

I think you meant KCA319A (85 duro). How are you finding the comfort level of these so far?

Are they much harsher in terms of NVH than stock? I know it's probably difficult to compare to the worn stock bushings.

I wouldn't say they're harsh, you can feel the road a lot more they just feel more solid.
Thats is compared to two knocking and split originals though

One thing I noticed is that they had the bushes labelled round the wrong way.

Yeah fair enough, mine are the same. Pretty horrible and well overdue..

That's interesting about the labelling. Either labelled from the wrong perspective or just a flat out mistake I guess.

How about in terms of noise? Have you noticed any squeaking at all so far? Did you just use the grease that came with them? I know some people seem to recommend using silicone based lube instead.

Cheers for the feedback!

No squeaking at all ... yet.
Yeah just used the lithium sachet that came with them. I've always used lithium grease with poly bushes.
