I have a starting problem with my 2004 SG Forester. Sometimes goes for days without a problem and then it won't start first go. Sometimes it starts on the second turn of the key, sometimes it takes up to ten or so goes, but it always fires up. motor turns over fine each time when it happens but it just doesn't fire up. When I turn the key I can here the fuel pump and then a relay under the glove box. Have been told either mechanics or auto electricians can't help unless fault happens when I take it to them. Any ideas?

Security system issue?

Or an igniter issue?  Does it happen on hot days or after a drive?

The other issue it could be is a leaking injector or injectors that are flooding the engine.

Cheers

Bennie

Thanks for that Bennie. Booked in tomorrow morning, so fingers crossed they sort it.
