I've recently picked up a v8 ej207 short block with 130k on it, it also came with the Avcs cams, pulleys and the 05 sti Ecu.

I'm going to use my B4 heads and get them overhauled with new valves, springs, retainers and guides.

I want to use second hand parts where possible, this is going to be my daily driver, also contemplating going e85

Question:

- should I wire in the sti Ecu so I can use the avcs cams and pulleys I got with the short block. Or just get get new non avcs cams and run the standard Ecu.

- should I just use a second hand sti tmic or go second hand fmic

- I've got some v8 sti twin scroll heads and sump the suit, what kind of turbo would be suited to the standard v8 sti avcs cams if I go that way. Or what cams and turbo recommendations do you guys have for me..

I really want this thing to be pulling hard at high revs.

Here's my rough shopping list

Bit Front mount or better Tmic with hood scoop
Water pump
Oil pickup
Up pipe
Turbo, twin scroll
Down pipe
E85
Injectors
Aos catch can
Silicone inlet
Wide band o2 sensor
Wastegate, external?
Valves
Springs
Retainers
Guides
Heads serviced
Bov
Pistons?
Shifter bushings
Engine mounts
Transmission mounts
Rotating assembly balanced
Fuel pump
Fuel regulator
3 port boost solonoid
Head studs
Fuel filter
Oil cooler

Any support and suggestions are much appreciated

Run your current B4 cams, heads and manifold.

People make an easy 250+ and up to 300kw with 207s. No need for any internal work but some head studs are a good idea if youre pulling things apart.

Youll need a dump pipe as well for twin scroll turbos. The standard turbo would be a VF37. If you want to go big a GTX3071R can be bought with a twin scroll rear housing from Mamba etc. With ethanol, E85 and Twin scroll and GT30 should spool up nicely.

As for intercooling a GD cooler seems to do 250 or so. A GR STi or process west intercooler will be good upgrade.

Thanks for your input.

I should still get better valves, springs and retainers to handle the extra hp though yeah?

Ah ok. So just a better tmic, dump pipe, head studs, turbo with external wastegate and I'll be in business?

You could get the b4 heads modified for avcs but probably not worth the hassle

Factory Twin scroll turbos tend to fall over a bit in the top end
So the Garret one nick mentioned would be the go or get a single scroll exhaust setup and you will have more options td05-18/20g or a dom 1.5 will pull hard to redline on a stock 207

Yep. Personally id leave the heads as they arent really going to hold you back.

EWG are fickle on RHD they tend to hit the steering column, that said a few companies now offer up pipes that allow for an EWG. Dont really need them, get perfectly good boost control with majority of off the shelf turbos
