Hi all just wondering what is the easiest way to removoe and replace the knock sensor on a 2002 b4 twin turbo. Ive had a look and theres not much room to reach it just wondering what needs to be removed in order to remove the knock sensor. Any help would be great thanks.

Its pretty much near on impossible to remove it without taking the intake manifold off. Its a royal pain in the ass but its the only way to get to it.

Be VERY careful taking the manifold off as the plastic breather pipes coming off the intake tract can be very brittle and break. Make sure the spring clamps are slid off and remove the pipes very carefully.

Have you checked the codes on the ECU?

Just connect now and turn key to ON, don't start engine. We're seeing if any codes are stored.

No idea then. My B4 flashes the CEL constantly when I use the black test connectors (No stored codes). Everything running fine since 170,000 til 290,000km.

How's the maintenance of your engine?
Used upper engine cleaner? Fuel additive?
Cleaned MAF sensor? Air filter?

The other issue is to when i have the ac fan speed on full the engine misses and the engine light flashes on amd off if its on any other speed its fine and the lights off im not sure if the knock sensor or 02 sensor or any sensor can cause it but i cant seem to find anything about it
