A gen3 from 2002 will have an immobiliser fitted to the car, you are in Australia yeah ??
So a $10 key from Ebay etc will not have a security chip and will not let the car run.
Partsouq is probs the cheapest place to get a key from.
If you want the key complete with the remote opening door its going to be big bucks by the time you get the key, cut and code it.
If you pm you vin# i can get you the part number for the key.
Hey Duncan, for us with JDM conversions, the $10 ebay key will work fine.

And just so you know, PartSouq does not stock the part any more.

Wow 4 years between posts.
When I worked at Subaru, we kept a service key in stock, it was about $80 to supply plus a cut and code.
Pretty sure one of the aftermarket key guys can sort this for you, What state are you in ??

I must say going to the dealer is something I have not considered in a while. The "service charge" for cut and program is what frightens me...

FYI;
Mr. Minit Warrigah Mall:
$150 key without remote
$250 key with remote
Programmed and cut.
10% off if you take 2.
What's the alternative?
