Hi,

Umm. OK?

The drink, named "Tactical Nuclear Penguin" is so strong that it should be served in small measures usually reserved for spirits.
Its maker, BrewDog brewers of Fraserburgh described the 32 per cent proof tipple as its "most audacious and ambitious project to date"

But its launch comes amid a high profile debate in Scotland about an epidemic of alcoholism in the country. The devolved SNP administration is considering introducing minimum pricing in an attempt to curb problem drinking.
BrewDog, which describes itself as making "progressive, craft beers" was previously responsible for an 18.2pc drink called Tokyo which it claimed had been "banned" by the Portman Group, the industry body which runs a voluntary code of conduct.
It also made a low alcohol brew which it mockingly name "Nanny State".
Only 500 bottles of its latest beer have been produced, with half going on sale for £30 each and remainder offered for £250 with a share in the company also on offer.
In a posting on the company's website, James Watt, the managing director said: "This beer is bold, irreverent and uncompromising, a beer with a soul and a purpose, a statement of intent."
He added: "Beer has a terrible reputation in Britain, it’s ignorant to assume that a beer can’t be enjoyed responsibly like a nice dram or a glass of fine wine.
"A beer like Tactical Nuclear Penguin should be enjoyed in spirit sized measures.
"It pairs fantastically with vanilla bean white chocolate it really brings out the complexity of the beer and complements the powerful, smoky and cocoa flavours."
A warning on the label advises drinkers to take it in small servings: "and with an air of aristocratic nonchalance.
"In exactly the same manner that you would enjoy a fine whisky, a Frank Zappa album or a visit from a friendly yet anxious ghost."

My Tokyo all got sold in Europe so I never got any. Hope to hell I get one of these puppets.

Cheers,
Nik

Dogma, meh I'm guessing it would be a nice (although higher % than i would expect) pale ale normally. quite bitter, if it was a little less, I think it would make a better tasting beverage. (Not sure if that is due to the extra ingredients) Little bit of the honey there

Hi,

As promised, here are some photos of the still arrival.

My master builder, Steve, showed me how to use the right tools to get the nails out. They were long suckers.

Posted Image

As you can see, very long. This is about 10% of the nails I removed, took about 40 minutes just to open the roof off!

Inside!

The packaging on this thing was amazing. We are talking top grade stainless steel brackets just for the shipping, every nail was stainless. Insane.

We've got the main vessel, the pump for mash and the fruit smashed in order in those photos.

I've been here for 13 hours so I'm going home now. More details tomorrow. I have tennis in 45 minutes, yay, three hours of running around like a crazy person!

Cheers,
Nik

I'll get some photos of the weld beads on this thing. forking amazing.

Tidy little setup there man, nice On another note, tried the 'storm'. Reminded my of a rauchbeir. Surprisingly(un), I didn't like it :/ Started to give me a headache almost instantly from the smoke. Its a shame, I really wanted to enjoy it.

so I didn't like the storm (i must just not quite be there as a beer person) BUT the Bashah - Black Belgian Style Double India Pale Ale is yum

It reminds me of a dark larger, but the coffee/chocolate is turned way down and there is a hint of the yeastyness that you get from Belgin ale, tripples etc, oh and the % is higher, but not over powering (just gives a slight sweetness. Sliiight smokeyness to it. Real chocky smell too. Gets my vote!

Hahaha, I take it your not a fan? At 1st I thought the same, so I saved a couple for yest and a 2nd taste..... and it was still good... even put a wedge of orange in the last one, and mate!!! I actually didn't mind it after it had warmed up a bit either.
Ice-cold = nice thirst quencher,
a little on the warm side = a nice bevy to sit back and contemplate the universe... I wanted more but my local didn't have it so had to settle for some Gage Rd IPA.... that stuff's nice (for a commercial brew).

Hi, Yeah, rumour has it they've licensed the term Dopplebock - it's a style of beer FFS!!!!!!!!!!! The dopplebock scandal is the main reason I dislike them, outside of taste. Cheers, Nik

Hi, The radler will be the biggest joke, because EVERYONE that drinks beer knows the story of the bicycling beer, the radler. Cheers, Nik
