So my head gaskets gone in my 01 bugeye wagon, so instead of forking out big bucks to fix it so I thought let's swap the engine out for a WRX STi engine instead, but I need to research it a little more and need a hand about any suggestions about?

If you’re not mechanical minded then this conversion is not for you. You’ll spend three or four times more on a turbo conversion compared to paying someone to replace the headgaskets.

Read up though. It’s been done before, the info is out there.

You will get recommendations to sell and just buy a wrx.

Cheers

No good STI engines available that are cheap.

As bennie has said above, you will dump atleast 10K into doing this conversion.

But if your keen, go for it.
