:::The Lawn Mowing Thread:::

Just been out on the ride-on for a couple of hours, and I was thinking how relaxing it can be to be out under the sun, making your place look a bit more presentable. My mower only just got back from being fixed, so it was the first mow since the rain stopped - think 4-5 foot tall grass.
The bond between man and mower is a strong one. So I thought we could chuck up some snaps of our grass and our mowers, chainsaws, whatever. It's all good. The idea here is to have a manly gardening thread. My nearest large town is very much a retiree destination, so a lot of that old school pride in the front lawn is all about, and I really like to see that.
Here's the beast:
And here's the grass at my house, the ride on is used all over the property, but I don't usually do that - just my house!
That's the first run through on the highest deck setting, I'll go back over it this afternoon when the wind has carried some of the cuttings away. Also need to get the whipper snipper out for the hard up places.
So come on, show us what you got! What pattern you prefer?
Cheers,
Nik

but mine's looking a little feral.
i plan to hit up my joint on thursday, which is my next day off coming up.
nothing spesh. just a pusher rover.
i do have a sweet stihl whipper snipper though, which is good.
i once had a lawn bowls type of mower.
expensive bastard, at almost $2K, but it pulled itself, and the grass was fricken sweet.
didn't like going up hills, however, and well, the terrain here is a little hilly. So it had to go.

Today I mowed and whipersnipped like a motherfucker. I love my new snipper. I am going to put an exhaust on it. It was really hot work got all soaked and then had a nice cold beer. Decided to detail the car and have another beer. Motivation. It happens when your missus buys a new string bikini.
New signature. Yes?

your not aloneI dont find it relaxing at all! i am a pansy and i get hayfever so its a rather painful experience for me!
I should just convert to single, right?As soon as she hands it to you, slowly take of your pants, then, while staring her straight in the eyes rub it against the tip of you penis, while continuing your painfully intense gaze whisper to her;
"My eye is watering, this might be a bit hot"

I've always been lucky with Hayfever - my old man is a chronic sufferer of the condition! Looks like a stoner during this time of year.

Although, who needs a whippersnipper when you have industrial strength Roundup, none of this 'bunnings watered down' junk.
Ugh i could ramble on for forking days about this stuff.

We moved to the area in Dec 1999 to a 2.5 (1ha) block. We were perched on top of a hill. You can see the drop off there. Was a mission to mow - we eventually got minature horses to keep the grass down.
Getting a tree chopped
The view
Here is our first mower. It died about a month ago. Had a good 10 year life. (Not me pictured!)
Was upgraded to this. Still new, it has only been used once:
We ran out of room in our old house so in Feb 08 we moved to our current house. Some say it is a dolls house, some say it is the Playboy mansion...decide what you want!! We do plan to paint it in the future!!! Its a smaller block of land (about 1.3 acres) but a bigger house to moved around in.
You've met the mower, heres some other bits and bobs around the garage:
Circular/table saw
Tool wall
Good ol' push mower. Can you tell it never gets used anymore?!
Brush cutter, hedge trimmer, blower
Various goodies
Chainsaw
Mysterious power tools (angle grinder etc)
Gets pretty cold here in the winter. Gotta have a fire running every night
The old man and a mate splitting some wood up for next season
You cant see there but there are 2 rows of logs there - same length and same height! Good effort team
The rubbish pile. Cant really tell from the photo but it stands taller than me - im 6'2". Dont like to think about the things that live in there!
The important things - i think we need to restock!
And the beautiful birds eye. We're a little left of the picture but you get the idea!
