Fatcat's Track Hack

Al and Miles did the conversion using Paul's (twinturbosubaru) old GT running gear and added a few bits like twist mount, in guard CAI, and reverse intake, that was a special surprise gift from Al because he felt like trying it out.
The lads also removed all sundry under dash crap and wired in a Motec to run the show. The lights, indicators, brake lights, and one wiper were left active in case a foray into a CAMS sanctioned event was ever considered, though at this stage, that ain't happening.
Brembo's are still in Customs in Sydney as far as EMS's tracking allows me to tell, and I'm still waiting for a few suspension bits and pieces from Mick (Datman).
Also have an 02 STI RA brake booster (no ABS), WRX seats, two 4 point harnesses, Tein EDFC, and hopefully 17"rims with rubber to come.
Tune was booked for the 8th, but the car won't be ready in time for that, so the new date is yet to be confirmed.
Pardon the engine bay, it needs a good clean up.
and a few little extras I needed
Enjoy.

As long as it's not being smashed into gear it should last for a while, it's just a cheap start into track work lance.Hows the Gt box going to handle the track abuse?
what clutch are you running?

There is no competition between Soop and myself. How can an old fart like me even keep up.uh oh.
Soop's in trouble
Nice hack Frank. Look's like a "cheap cheap" build
He will have more power and any weight differential there was is evened up by my personal girth.
It has been a cheap build and I believe anyone who wants to take on more of the work themselves its really affordable.
At the moment I think I've spent less than some would think, although more than I thought I would originally.
It's all the little, finishing things that add up pretty quickly.

<noobness>
The reversed intake is to reduce throttle lag yeah ?
does it make that much of a difference ?
</noobness>
Im not having a go or anything, just curious. To me it looks like its saved on ~ 1' of pipe ?
PS. I reckon it will be wikkid fun but
not just the distance of pipe, delete a large bend in the pipe too.. it's f**ken awesome.. I love it. Like the overflow bottle too mate.. looks like art!!

The overflow bottle is an APS part that goes with the DR725 FMIC thats already fitted. Al has absconded with all of the APS piping I had in exchange for the piping he made for me.not just the distance of pipe, delete a large bend in the pipe too.. it's f**ken awesome.. I love it. Like the overflow bottle too mate.. looks like art!!
Richo, Yes, the shorter the piping the less lag, or so the story goes.
Paul, bushes and the like aren't the bits I was talking about. It's more the unexpected problems I'm now faced with that my wheels don't clear brembo's (1 f**ken millimeter) and I was sure they would. Shit happens.
