Just thought I’d post up some information on the Japanese Sports Car Club Inc (JSCC)
http://www.jscc.asn.au
If any of you NSW guys were thinking about attending and participating in super sprints, gymkhana, motorkhana, hill climbs or motorcross you are going to need to be a member of a registered motor sports club and hold a CAMS licence (being part of a registered motor sport club means you can apply for your CAMS licence. Without being part of a registered club, you can not get a CAMS licence). Also if your thinking about general track days, speed of the street and skid pan having a CAMS licence means you don’t need to buy a separate single day license or yearly single track subscriptions for every track you go to as the CAMS licence covers them all.
I’ve been a member of a registered motorsports club and held a CAMS licence for the past two years and am going to change to JSCC next year as their rates are very good. They also have a new events coordinator who has lots of good ideas and plans for events and meets for 2010/2011.
Holding a CAMS license also gets me discounts on my comprehensive car insurance. With the discount and money i save on my insurance, the CAMS license and Club membership pay for themselves.
Please note that JSCC is a New South Wales based car club.
Costs
For new members it is $50 for one year, or $95 for three years (which both include the $20 joining fee). For renewals, it's only $30 per year (or $75 for 3 years).
Once JSCC receives payment you will be provided with a JSCC membership card (in person or by mail) and a JSCC car sticker. The membership card is usually *required* at all CAMS sanctioned events.
Benefits
The benefits of joining a registered car club are many:
notification of professionally organised events
discounts and group-buys for equipment and parts
ease of access to CAMS licences and discounts
members lengthy experience in motorsports, photography and driving
DIY & maintenance days
Prerequisites
The only requirements for new members* are that they must read and agree to the Japanese Sports Car Club Inc. policies (e.g.our anti-hooning stance) and agree to abide by the JSCC & CAMS rules
