I purchased this car on 31st August, 2010. It came complete with a full Subaru service history, and all original floor mats. Mileage was low at only 109,xxx KMS. Drives very well - the engine is infinitely smoother than the old EJ25 I was use too. Also has a decent bit more pulling power, albeit higher up in the rev range than I'd like.

Absolutely love this old mans car! Taking this offroad is a hell of a lot of fun. I've waded through rivers, launched over sand dunes and had spirited drives on unsealed country roads. Got plenty of space for taking the dog to the beach. I've got a fridge running off the 12V outlet in the rear so that keeps the drinks cold.

Anyway, I will keep this thread updated so watch this space biggrin.gif

Hi,

I love your thinking, but just so you know, none of those images show a situation where low profile tyres would have been a disadvantage. Trust me. She loves it.

Also, props on catching the DJ's scandal on the monitor. Sexual harassment is back like it's 1988.

Cheers,
Nik

Yup I know - I took the RX places where I shouldn't have and it took it in its stride whilst wearing 17" performance tyres

I just love how easily the Outback handled itself out in the country and lapped up those corrugated roads with such ease. It was seemingly unaffected by it all and very competant going up rocky hills thanks to the 4WD. Only thing I didn't rate in those conditions were the VDC which was defeated by some limestone and a gradient. Given snow, I think that system would be tops though...

Nothing major planned Alex. Theres a lot of different directions you can go with modding an Outback, but none that I'm willing to go down.

I've got a few other small things on the cards - the biggest being an aftermarket projector lens upgrade for the existing headlights coupled with some HIDs. Once you go HID, you cannot go back! Watch this space...

Apart from that, I'd like to do an exhaust system. The H6 sounds lively around 3.8K+ and I rekon with the right system, it can sound really nice without being over the top.

Photos never really do justice to gradients. But believe me, there was no way my humble Outback was crossing that river. That thought did cross my mind though!

I was actually going to call you and see if you'd join, but figured it'd be too much of a drive coming to the Southern Highlands and back again. I ended up in National Parks near Macquarie Pass - there are heaps of them. Some better than others. The next trip I have planned is actually near your neck of the woods as I know there to be some decent tracks up there - I'll be sure to give you a buzz then. We'll find something to put that dual range to good use!

I'd like to do another in the next couple of weeks. I know you've said Saturdays are no good until the wedding so maybe a Sunday would be the go.

Wyong and Ourimbah forests are littered with roads suitable for our cars:

...ouch!

Yea Ourimbah is my local.
Not always suitable though. If they have recently grated the main track then its better. Worth a shot though!
Its where I used to go in the 4Runner and 80 Series. 4Runner got stuck a few times! We wouldnt go on those tracks though :P

What car is that? 98-01 headlights, Outback grille, bumper, foggies but colour coded trim?
