07-09 STI's had the Brembo's
GT brakes are still big though (316 x 30) fronts and 290 rear.
Very nice model though
Ps, go the manual, comes with bigger turbo.

might be a good price, but owning a bmw is a very expensive game.

Yeah, No converting to LED'S otherwise the computer goes crazy.

I too would know, having owned one myself for six years, and having another in the family for longer.
They're good cars and all, but the electronics can be quite fussy, and you'll need to find a supplier of parts and consumables, else its becomes ridiculous. (ten years ago, I was paying $50 for an oil filter... from a BMW dealer parts department. Then another parts supplier i frequented had them for $8 a pop. Genuine BMW. Many other examples too!)
They have a service interval computer which will need resetting. BMW charge $50-$100 for the privilege of plugging in their ECU reader and punching three buttons to reset the service CEL. Or you could buy your own for several hundred dollars...
You'd also need to be besties with your local BMW mechanic, as normally, mechanics charge like a wounded bull on crack. For some reason, they all charge at least double or triple the going rate for a job, just because they see or hear those magical three letters, yet they source their parts pretty much the same price as most other parts.
Stick with a Subaru. Extend the budget slightly, or hunt around some more, and get an STi with Brembos. Trust me, you won't regret it.
